Alysa Wen-Li Chiu
's passion for Taiwan has a long history. Having interned for a former Taiwanese legislator, she experiencedTaiwanese politics from an insider's perspective. While pursuing her bachelor's degree in political science at National Chung-Cheng University, she served as a division director of the Political Science department, in charge with hosting events to increase students awareness and concern of political affairs.Outside of school, Alysa was a campaign volunteerduring the last presidential election, where she delivered speeches to advocate for a referendum to allow for Taiwan's membership application to the United Nations. Alysa is determined to promote Taiwan's official statehood.

is an undergraduate at UCI and is an active member in the Taiwanese American Organization (TAO) on campus. She will be the TAO's Event Coordinator Chair for the academic year 2010-2011. Influenced by her father's involvement in the Taiwanese American community, Katherine is always looking to become more involved. She along with other TAO members won TACL’s Census 2010 Campaign Contest through a creative video on Youtube. Katherine loves photography, art, and playing the guitar. She hopes to pursue a career in psychology or education.

Pei-fen Hsieh is a recent graduate from the National Taiwan University with a bachelor's degree law and political science, and minor in English Literature. She will begin her graduate studies in public international law at NTU in the fall of 2010. With a deep interest in Taiwan’s history, international status, and the US-Taiwan relations, Pei has been studying the related subjects, including carrying out a research project on the history of Taiwanese law and literature, which was awarded Taiwan National Science Council Research Prize. She hopes to offer local perspectives to the Ambassador Program and advocate for the Taiwanese people.

Apple Ching-Fang Hsu is currently a fellow at Taiwan Thinktank, working on democratization issues in Taiwan. When she studied at the National Taiwan University, Apple was actively involved in campus affairs. She has devoted herself in gender equality, human rights, and self-governing issues on NTU campus. In addition, Apple was a member of NTU Folkdance Club for three years and danced in several major performances presented by the club. Apple is passionate to promote Taiwan's democracy, and is genuinely interested in contributing to her community.

She has taken an active role in the Taiwanese-American community serving as a board member of Northwestern's Taiwanese American Students Club (TASC), a director for the 2011 Intercollegiate Taiwanese American Students Association (ITASA) Midwest Conference, and a counselor for the Taiwanese American Citizens League (TACL) Leadership Identity Development Camp. Hailing from southern California, Pamela enjoys exploring new places, eating bread and biking with friends.

Born in the US, Adrian grew up in Switzerland where he was also politically active. With the Formosa Foundation, he wants to improve the mutual understanding between Taiwan and the US.

Born into a fiercely patriotic Taiwanese family, Megan was exposed to the Taiwanese American community at an early age, attending various Taiwanese American summer camps as early as middle school. As a college student, she aspires to give back to the community by becoming a counselor for Taiwanese American Next Generation. Her extracurricular interests include breakdancing, playing Frisbee, and listening to music.

holds a bachelor's degree in political science from the National Taiwan University, and is currently pursuing a master's degree in public health. Rose has worked as a public relations liaison for a legislative election campaign, research assistant for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and contract assistant for Taiwan's Department of Health. Her long list of community services include giving reading lessons to children of aboriginal origins, teaching youth deliquents in a detention center, collecting and translating relevant news articles for environmental NGOs, and recording oral history from political prisoners.

is perusing a L.L.M degree at the Institute of Law for Science and Technology at NTHU. She is also working as a research assistant at the Institute of Jurisprudence at Academia Sinica. Her research interests include equality, human rights, intellectual property rights and international law. Jenny is passionate about the pursuit of justice and social good. Jenny Wang is a rising junior at Rutgers University, New Jersey. Throughout high school and her time at Rutgers so far, Jenny has been involved in a number of activities, ranging from fine arts to cultural awareness. At Rutgers University, she is on the executive board of the Rutgers Taiwanese American Student Association (TASA). She was public relations chair and co-director of Nightmarket this past semester. In the 2010-11 school year, Jenny will take on the position of vice president. Jenny has a genuine interest in US foreign policy towards Taiwan, and Taiwan in general.

She has been advocating for Taiwan's participation in the WHO since 2004. She was the VP of the Australian Taiwanese Association (2006). She enjoys mathematics, singing and playing the piano in her remaining 'spare' time. In 2011 Lily will be a fellow at the Joint Program in Nuclear Medicine at Harvard Medical School.

’s active participation in the Taiwanese American community began with her enthusiasm to volunteer for Taiwanese American Citizens League (TACL-LA), and she now coordinates TACL’s Journalism Internship Program (JIP). Driven by her passion to impact society on a greater scale, Emily aspires to become a talk show host in the mainstream media. Her stepping stone towards this ambition is through a Taiwanese American online news site, LATWTV, where she hopes to inspire and bring more awareness to issues that are often under represented in the mainstream media today.
